Banda Sin Nombre combines folk music from around the world with performance art, drag, and dance. With creative roots in San Francisco’s Mission District, the band features rich vocal harmonies with acoustic instruments including guitar, fiddle, accordion, charango, jarana, cajon, and upright bass. The band’s musical influences range from Peruvian chicha to Catalan rumba and Appalachian old time to Cumbia.

After a decade playing together, Banda Sin Nombre has built a loyal following in the Bay Area, through gigs at Stern Grove Festival, Yerba Buena Gardens Festival, Freight & Salvage in Berkeley, the New Parish in Oakland, MACLA in San Jose, and dozens of venues in San Francisco including The Chapel, the Boom Boom Room, Amnesia, El Rio, Cafe Revolution, Elbo Room, Brava Theater, Mission Cultural Center, Red Poppy Art House, and Club Deluxe. The band has also weaved creative connections with interdisciplinary artists both locally and by touring internationally in Spain and Latin America.
